E made a blip on da daily Hip-Hop radar...

Well today's the last day of 08' & it's been an extremely historical & memorable year to say the least!!! From last December to this one I've had my 1st child, I voted for the 1st time, had my 1st car accident, bought my 1st new car, got on my 1st international mixtape, got my 1st solo radio spins, & co-directed my 1st music video!!! That's a whole lot considering that this time last year I didn't have any connections, a job, or a solid plan to accomplish all this. Shit...I didn't even know what da hell a blog was...lol!!! 2008 has probably been the most productive year of all time as far as our rap division of De-U Records is conscerned. I did a google search on E One Letter today & a link popped up to this website called hip hop blips. He's been getting alot of attention on the internet ever since we released his video for "Go Get It Boy". Thanks to everyone who helped support De-U Records, Edu-Basics, & The Epitome Band & Show this year...your greatly appreciated!!! Oh & one last thing...to anybody who's reading this that has been impressed with De-U Records grind this year, or in past years trust me when I tell U pimpin'...U ain't seen nothin' yet!!!

GoGo...Commercial or Underground???

This post is meant to merely peak your interest in our everyday culture where I'm from & to raise the ever present question being asked in Hip-Hop today...will Go-Go ever be accepted on a national scale? Only time will tell, but for now let's all just have fun by making ignorant ass speculations & talkin' shit about it.

Bush Gets The Boot...

I'm trying to start posting more blog entries that don't directly conscern De-U Records...so here you go. This is just too funny for words!!! My president is black but your president is wack...lol!!! Peep how Bush try to play it off like this wasn't out of the ordinary or something. I guess it's out with the old & in with the shoe huh...lmao!!!

E One Letter - What's a "Go Get It Boy"???

Ok...It's official now!!! I think this blog stuff is starting to take on a life of it's own!!! This is the fist blog post I ever did about us that I got from off of another website. At first I just made this blog for something extra to do that promoted De-U Records on the internet. The next thing you know bloggers were stealing the posts off this joint & using them for a story on their page...ask Dime$. Apparently I'm a journalist too & didn't even know it yet...lol!!! Earlier this mourning when I checked my e-mail I was informed that I've been selected to be a blog writter for a new website called dmvhustlers.com!!! Make sure you go & check out they're site & don't forget to join it!!! I think you guys will like the write ups they do...man I swear their blog writters are geniouses or something...lol!!!

The Legend...

I usually don't post stories on my blog from off of other blogs (thanks Judah) unless it's somehow related to De-U Records or Edu-Basics & this is no different. Scarface & Rap-A-Lot have been a huge inspiration & a major influence to every member of De-U Records musically & lyrically. The Legend is one of my favorite open mic spots to hit up on tuesdays & Scarface is also one my favorite rappers of all time. He'll be performing tonight live at The Legend so...I'm there no question!!! If you don't know too much about Scarface...U don't know too much about Hip-Hop. He's always been known for having top notch lyricism & production on every CD he's ever dropped since the early days with Geto Boys & Def Jam. If you've never been to The Legend open mic, you're not too familiar with Scarface's work, or you just love Hip-Hop, then this event is a must see...trust me on this one pimp!!!

P.S. Say no to free downloads & buy "Emeritus" in stores today!!!

E One Letter = WorldStarHipHop...

This is definitely the best rap site E One Letter's "Go Get It Boy" video has been featured on thus far. Today the popular Hip-Hop website called World Star Hip-Hop featured E's video in the Unsigned Hype section. Although we've had alot of hard earned blessings from above bestowed upon De-U's Hip-Hop department this year we've also had alot of negative things going on in our peronal lives. Nobody has ever helped us or given us anything extra over here at De-U that we didn't work extremely long & hard to get. Words alone can't possibly explain our gratitude...100k thank you's go out to Worldstar Hip-Hop & 100,000,000 thank you's go out to DC!!!

Oogie ft. Gawfee & Young Money - Swagg Right (freestyle)

This dude you looking at is probably one of my best friends. Back in the late 90's he was the lead singer for the GoGo band called High Degree. From what I've heard this dude was a local GoGo singer back when UCB, TCB, & other legendary bands of today were still getting their feet wet. Since 2000 to now he's switched his game up from GoGo frontline singer to Hip-Hop/R&B singer. He's also affiliated with us here at De-U Records as well as Bar Boys, Edu-Basics, & many others. You can also hear him singing on E One Letter's debut EP on the song entitled "Hair Done" & on my solo music coming out soon as well. I introduce to you the rap singer that they call...Oogie!!!

I'm Puttin' E One Letter OnSmash Today...

De-U Records has gotten rewarded yet once again for our tireless efforts we've been puttin' in relentlessly since the year 2000 till now. E One Letter's video directed & produced by himself for his single "Go Get It Boy" made it to the popular Hip-Hop website known as "On Smash" today. * FYI *... as a side note of De-U press CNBC also called De-U's CEO/my pops earlier this week about doing their 2nd story this year on "Multiplication Hip-Hop" from our crazy popular Edu-Basics series too, but if U live in DC, MD, or VA...U already know da deal!!! Please excuse my blatantly rude level of braggadocio...lol!!! I know, I know...I'm either brain dead or partially retarded...just not sure which 1 yet...Mr. 40. Watt signing off!!!

De-U Records, Inc.

De-U Records, Inc.

Google or Wikipedia us...

De-U Records was formed late in the year 1999 by our CEO & my father David Printis Sr. & his brother & VP Steven Printis. We got off to an exceptional start immediately with our first Hip-Hop project receiveing radio play, our first gospel artist getting inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame, & our first kids educational product recieving national press all before 2003. In the first two years alone we had already managed to get The F.A.M.'s "Da Realist" played on WPGC's DC Home Jamz segment & the original "Multiplication Hip-Hop" featured on BET Nightly News. Since 1999 the majority of our success has come from our hip-hop dept./street team, children's dept., & our gospel department. As of late alot of satellite, mixtape, internet, & radio DJ's have been giving De-U's rappers alot of attention. E One Letter, De-U.c.e. Double, & MLG's solo music in particular has recieved alot of love lately. WPGC 95.5 debuted E One Letter & my solo singles this summer. The track "Sexy Lady" by myself De-U.c.e. Double is on "Check My Global Stats Vol.7: Hosted by Slim Thug". DNA & DJ Drama's Gangsta Grillz mixtape "Motion Picture Sh*t Vol.3: Street Kings" features E One Letter's "Go Get It Boy" off his "You Talk It I Walk It" debut EP as well. Both mixtapes are available in stores & online right now!!! E & myself were also featured on Comcast Cable all summer long on a 30 minute show for CTV called "It's About Time" along side elements of "The Epitome Band & Show". As for future plans stay tuned for my new solo offering "40. Watt The Mixtape" & E's "Now Or Never" mixtape. They'll both be coming to a parking lot or street corner near you in the 1st quarter of 2009...remember U've been warned!!!

Money Federation b.k.a. Moola Fedi...

The Money Federation b.k.a. Moola Fedi are da kings of "unscripted" music. Moola fedi is comprised of 2 Co-CEO's Dime$ & Q-Money. These 2 strictly represent DC & PG how it used 2 be & aren't too fond of da term "DMV" dat's being used now instead of DC. Q-Money is da muscle & Dime$ is da brains behind their operation. Unlike alotta fluke new rappers out now days these dudes lyric's represent their actual lives & dey know how 2 create their own internet buzz. Most rappers say they're real niggaz & dat dey did everything on their own but 4 deez 2...dat's a gross understatement. For an unsigned group their daily, weekly, & all time myspace plays & views are sick!!! No cheat codes or paid promotional services over here homie just hard work. Da only other artists dat get close 2 as much attention as them on da space are da 1's dat have major label deals. Check U're friend requests myspace addicts because The Arrival is now officially on dat piff. My niggaz literally gotta lotta money in their federation & 1000's of tracks on deck in da Moola Fedi HQ vaults so if U don't know bout these dudes yet don't worry...U will real soon!!!

Dis iz "Bar Nun" some "Pure" Bushit...

I was about to get on the Metro a couple weeks back when I saw Ft. Wash femcee Lady Lethal. We got to talking and she told me that she had heard club Pure (aka The Bar Nun) on U street's open mic night had been shut down (hopefully only temporarily!). They mentioned this club's open mic in Billboard as one of the top spots in the DC Hip Hop scene just this spring...& just a couple months later it no longer exists. This is a major blow slim!!! I love to perform especially with a live band so that shit used to make my monday nights. Oh well...I guess it's back to The Legend on tuesdays wit Dre & The Martini's by the studio on mondays with DJ Rico again. At 1st I wasn't gonna post this Youtube joint of me performing in the club but now it may end up becoming rare footage you never know...lol!!! The video's quality is horrible in my opinion it's a little "underground" to say the least but according to ya'll we're "underground rappers" so I guess I'm overdue for some unprofessional shit huh...enjoy!!!

Mike Jones & Lil' Wayne bite'n DC Hip Hop???

My nigga Dime$ of Moola Fedi was searching Rap sites when he bumped into a song that sounded strangely similar to E One Letter's single joint called "Go Get It Boy". The words & flow pattern on the hook are damn near identical. De-U Records has sold 1000's of CD's all over the country...even in other Continents & the mixtape that E's "Go Get It Boy" is on was hosted by DNA & DJ Drama. Shit...they've been black marketing our "Multiplication Hip-Hop" CD right here in DC for several years so I definitely wouldn't put it past Mike Jones to be jockin' DC in the mist of his fading career & DMV's come up. Me personally I'm already assuming he's guilty until proven innocent but listen to the hook & let me know what you think.

Wanna Make $100k A Year???

I'm not going to write a long drawn out explaination for the title above or for the Youtube footage below. Just trust & believe that I'm not joke'n, fake'n, or just being a bama try'n to create some hype or buzz. This is a serious job opportunity for professional salesman & street hustlers a like. I gotta six month old daughter myself so trust me I know it's hard out here. That's why I'm doing my part to spread the word & the wealth during these tough times. I'm an extremely giving person who does unto others as I would have them do unto me instead of trying to be off the swindles 24/7. You can read this & take it as a joke if you want...makes no difference to me. Just do me one favor pimp...this time next year remember that De-U.c.e. I've had alot of things to address lately on my blogsite but as you can see from the title above, since my last post & now my b-day came up so...I've been a little side tracked to say the least...lol!!! "Go Get It Boy" - The Video!!!

After a long wait & a lotta hard work the "Go Get It Boy" video is finally completed!!! E One Letter's debut solo single has come a long ways since the day it was created by him & ZO using only the MPC, Motif, & an old De-U sample. We recorded, mixed, & mastered E's single at my old college Omega Studios' school...wut up Priest!!! It started out as just an infectious local DC/PG club banger off of his debut solo EP called "You Talk It I walk It" which was released in late 2007. From then to now this song has been featured on a DNA & DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz mixtape, played on several local/national radio stations, & it was on Comacast cable's CTV every wednesday all summer long accompanied by elements of The Epitome Band. Now that all editing for the final version of the video is completed the "Go Get It Boy" movement has officially begun so just remember you heard it here first!!! E One Letter's "Go Get It Boy" is much more than just merely a hype club song with a catchy hook...it's a multicultural anthem!!! This video is for all people make'n it happen instead of sitting back fake'n & yappin'!!! This version of E's video is just for blog responses only. To see the high quality version of this visit the De-U Records, or Mr. 40. Watt Youtube pages but 4 now...enjoy!!!

TrueBless ft. De-U.c.e. Double - Melodic Wings

This song is from my nigga 4 life...the one they call Blessed!!! He's one of the few people on this planet who knows our ancestor's past as good as I do, & another one of my daughter's many godfathers...lmao!!! My man TrueBless is the epitome of what it is to be a true emcee in every sense of the word. "Melodic Wings" is a joint we both colabed on wit da lyrics, while ScholarMan provided the production & engineering. Ever since we've recorded this joint together it's been one of our fan's favorite songs from us both respectively. This track is off of his latest solo offering called "Mission ISpossible" which is available for purchase on his website & myspace. He's a representer of Soganic Music...wut up ScholarMan!!! De-U on News Channel 8...

Here's yet another Youtube throwback De-U video I found from way back in 2003. This is probably one the best interviews of the hundreds we've been in over the past couple years because the info is coming straight from the horse's mouth instead of the sly fox's ass...lmfao!!! 2003 was a real popular year for De-U Records as far as national & local press goes. Back then we didn't have any publicists, managers, agents, or promoters & guess what...we still don't. If you know any good people tell em' to holla at ya boy...lol!!! Seriously though we do want some professional representation we're not against it at all, we just can't seem to find anybody who can do any better for us than what we've already accomplished for our damn selves. They say people aren't allowed meetings with major labels without any professional representation...I say some people just aren't trying hard enough...ya digg!!!

This event will be Friday night at Duke's city right down the street from Pure & Republic Gardens on U street. MLG - Bad Bones

This is a free download from my big cousin MLG the 3rd member of The F.A.M. a group wit myself De-U.c.e. Double & E One Letter. He's yet another De-U Records artist who's sold 1000's of CD's by himself wit no help n da streets of DC, PG, & VA. He also helped 2 make & sell da original "Multiplication Hip-Hop"...dis Bad Bones joint he got cranks & it's a classic!!! It's 1 of da tracks 2 be featured on my next release "De-U.c.e. Double presents: 40. Watt The Mixtape" dropping between late 08 & early 09, which DJ Heat will host if all goes as planned. Just so U know...& trust me 100% on dis...MLG's not tryin' 2 keep it "gangsta" on dis track & definitely not wit his individual rap style. ML has done a whole lot in his lifetime good n bad street n business wise dat most only pretend 2 do. Honestly 95% of da time he chooses not 2 rap about his street past. Dis song is true art & a musical statement bout an incident way back when dat bothered him 2 da point he felt he needed 2 get it off of his chest through music instead of violence...enjoy!!!

BET News Interviews De-U Records...

This is yet another throwback De-U Records Youtube joint. This is from way back in 2001 before it was acceptable to show local luv to DC rappers & producers...way before ya'll were screaming DMV every two seconds like it's a real place on the map or something. Back then niggaz called it what it really is...DC!!! The DMV is a fictional place that only exists in the minds of DC, PG, & Mo Co. natives. Don't get me wrong I understand the connection between the areas & this so called "movement" more than you realize...shit I've made thousands of legal dollars for myself & De-U Records in the D, the M, & the V...have you? My appologies I seem to have got a little off the subject at hand. I'll go into detail alot more on this issue in future blog posts, but for now just watch the damn video you bamas!!!

Def Jam & De-U Records...

Here's some more throwback De-U Records Youtube footage for all you video bloggers. This is from back when the Hip Hop Summit came to Washington, DC in 2007. Yeah yeah yeah...I know this joint is old as hell but hey this blog isn't so fuck it...sue me. This was the second time De-U Records got a chance to chop it up with the Def Jam founder Russell Simmons. He's considered a legend in the international Hip-Hop community but in person he's just a really down to earth dude. Everybody who's anybody in the DMV making major music moves knows what it is with De-U, but in case U didn't I just officially stamped it for you...We do this shit!!!

Everybody enjoyed themselves & we damn near sold out of CD's & refreshments. The second video posted is some throwback De-U press & Dezmo street team footage from when we used to be on the streets selling CD's everyday for at least 8 hours a day. We do small shows with just the music, only one character, & no plot at schools, book stores, & libraries all the time but this was only our second ever full blown concert & play. It was our best turnout yet & we here at De-U Records greatly appreciated all the local support...thanks DMV we love ya'll!!!

P.S. If you're from the DMV & you have kids from pre-school up to middle school & you still don't know about "Multiplication Hip-Hop", Dezmo, or The L-Squad yet...U loafin'!!! Kids love these CD's nationwide & especially in the DMV...ask around. Check us out at our kiosk where we sell them in P.G. Plaza mall. We'll be throwing another kids concert real soon so stay tuned.

You Talk It I Walk It EP - Free Download!!!

http://www.zshare.net/download/190206532b6cf82f/

E One Letter is the first rapper to represent solo from The F.A.M. & De-U Records. E is one of those dudes who shows & proves everything that comes out of his mouth with real life actions. It's one way or the other if your from DC or PG...either you've seen his face in the open mics, or you've seen him outside downtown with CD's & fliers in hand, maybee in a shopping center parking lot, or even in the mall selling...regardless where you've seen him just know that he's got a lotta units in the city. He's been hitting the parking lots & street corners relentlessly since De-U's creation in 1999 personally selling thousands!!! He has helped to sell over 1500,000 with De-U Records' CD's & DVD's right out of the trunk. This free download is E One Letter's debut solo EP called "You Talk It I Walk It". I also included a bonus unreleased track produced by Royal District called "Blank Change" from his upcoming debut solo LP called "Blood, Sweat, & Tears"...enjoy!!!

The Future of American Music = The F.A.M.

I know these CD's are almost bout 5 years old now but alot of De-U fans who buy them online out Japan & locally here in D.C. at our Edu-Basics kiosk in P.G. Plaza Mall believe this LP is a timeless classic & keep asking me to post it on my blog so here you go...happy now!!!

De-U Records is a DC based indie label that's run out of De-U studios in Fort Washington, MD. De-U is mostly made up of family members & close personal friends. The F.A.M. includes three cousins myself De-U.c.e. Double, E One Letter, & MLG; along with Zo, DP, & SP we formed De-U Records, Inc. & the group The F.A.M. in the year 1999. Ever since we moved the studio out of the basement & released "Multiplication Hip-Hop" in the year 2000 we've been selling/manufacturing CD's, doing audio/video production, studio/live engineering, rapping, songwriting, live performances, voiceover work, & much more for De-U Records; as well as many other local artists. We at De-U are the original creators, engineers, producers, manufacturers, sellers, promoters, & voices behind the nationally successful "Multiplication Hip-Hop" CD/DVD/concert series & "Edu-Basics" childrens learning products. De-U Records has a wide variety of talent in many genres. Since 2000 De-U Records' Hip-Hop, Gospel, R&B, & Children's music combined has sold over 150k units 95% of which were sold by The F.A.M. themselves right out of the trunk!!! De-U's relentless parking lot & street corner pavement pounding along with the release of The F.A.M.'s debut LP helped spark the beginning of a new era of professionalism & creativeity in DC's Hip-Hop music scene. This CD is trend setting, hard hitting, & thought provoking. De-U.c.e. Double himself produced three tracks on this CD, "So Sick", "Real Life", & "Roll Wit Real". The rest of the songs are created by one of the hottest & newest music producers, Alonzo Powell (Zo) of De-U Records. The F.A.M.'s 1st group LP "Rookie of the Year" is an instant classic, it's hot, & it's a must have for any true Hip-Hop fan!!!
