Published on

Tray Chaney aka Poot from the HBO hit series "The Wire" takes us on another day in the life. This time a little less glamourous though as Tray shows you what it takes to make street sales out of your trunk & backpack with his book called "The Truth You Can't Be Tray".

In October of da year 1999 my pops da De-U CEO came up wit an interesting idea 4 a new revolutionary product called "Multiplication Hip-Hop". He & us De-U boys had absolutely no idea at all how popular dis CD would quickly become. We sold these CD's & passed out fliers on many a DMV parking lot & street corner 7 days a week from 9-5 in order 2 fund studio time & 2 pay our bills. Within da 1st couple months of creation & of street sales we already had BET News calling us 4 an interview. From 1999 to da year 2009 we've managed 2 release several more educational Hip-Hop based CD's/DVD's & have moved over 150,000 units off of virtually street sales alone!!! Now days U can still find us in da streets selling if U wanna get dat good ol' De-U discount...lol!!! Our CD's are now also available at most FYE locations in all major urban cities & online as well.

De-U Records, Inc.
Google or Wikipedia us...
De-U Records was formed late in the year 1999 by our CEO & my father David Printis Sr. & his brother & VP Steven Printis. We got off to an exceptional start immediately with our first Hip-Hop project receiveing radio play, our first gospel artist getting inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame, & our first kids educational product recieving national press all before 2003. In the first two years alone we had already managed to get The F.A.M.'s "Da Realist" played on WPGC's DC Home Jamz segment & the original "Multiplication Hip-Hop" featured on BET Nightly News. Since 1999 the majority of our success has come from our hip-hop dept./street team, children's dept., & our gospel department. As of late alot of satellite, mixtape, internet, & radio DJ's have been giving De-U's rappers alot of attention. E One Letter, De-U.c.e. Double, & MLG's solo music in particular has recieved alot of love lately. WPGC 95.5 debuted E One Letter & my solo singles this summer. The track "Sexy Lady" by myself De-U.c.e. Double is on "Check My Global Stats Vol.7: Hosted by Slim Thug". DNA & DJ Drama's Gangsta Grillz mixtape "Motion Picture Sh*t Vol.3: Street Kings" features E One Letter's "Go Get It Boy" off his "You Talk It I Walk It" debut EP as well. Both mixtapes are available in stores & online right now!!! E & myself were also featured on Comcast Cable all summer long on a 30 minute show for CTV called "It's About Time" along side elements of "The Epitome Band & Show". As for future plans stay tuned for my new solo offering "40. Watt The Mixtape" & E's "Now Or Never" mixtape. They'll both be coming to a parking lot or street corner near you in the 1st quarter of 2009...remember U've been warned!!!

E One Letter is the first rapper to represent solo from The F.A.M. & De-U Records. E is one of those dudes who shows & proves everything that comes out of his mouth with real life actions. It's one way or the other if your from DC or PG...either you've seen his face in the open mics, or you've seen him outside downtown with CD's & fliers in hand, maybee in a shopping center parking lot, or even in the mall selling...regardless where you've seen him just know that he's got a lotta units in the city. He's been hitting the parking lots & street corners relentlessly since De-U's creation in 1999 personally selling thousands!!! He has helped to sell over 1500,000 with De-U Records' CD's & DVD's right out of the trunk. This free download is E One Letter's debut solo EP called "You Talk It I Walk It". I also included a bonus unreleased track produced by Royal District called "Blank Change" from his upcoming debut solo LP called "Blood, Sweat, & Tears"...enjoy!!!

I know these CD's are almost bout 5 years old now but alot of De-U fans who buy them online out Japan & locally here in D.C. at our Edu-Basics kiosk in P.G. Plaza Mall believe this LP is a timeless classic & keep asking me to post it on my blog so here you go...happy now!!!
De-U Records is a DC based indie label that's run out of De-U studios in Fort Washington, MD. De-U is mostly made up of family members & close personal friends. The F.A.M. includes three cousins myself De-U.c.e. Double, E One Letter, & MLG; along with Zo, DP, & SP we formed De-U Records, Inc. & the group The F.A.M. in the year 1999. Ever since we moved the studio out of the basement & released "Multiplication Hip-Hop" in the year 2000 we've been selling/manufacturing CD's, doing audio/video production, studio/live engineering, rapping, songwriting, live performances, voiceover work, & much more for De-U Records; as well as many other local artists. We at De-U are the original creators, engineers, producers, manufacturers, sellers, promoters, & voices behind the nationally successful "Multiplication Hip-Hop" CD/DVD/concert series & "Edu-Basics" childrens learning products. De-U Records has a wide variety of talent in many genres. Since 2000 De-U Records' Hip-Hop, Gospel, R&B, & Children's music combined has sold over 150k units 95% of which were sold by The F.A.M. themselves right out of the trunk!!! De-U's relentless parking lot & street corner pavement pounding along with the release of The F.A.M.'s debut LP helped spark the beginning of a new era of professionalism & creativeity in DC's Hip-Hop music scene. This CD is trend setting, hard hitting, & thought provoking. De-U.c.e. Double himself produced three tracks on this CD, "So Sick", "Real Life", & "Roll Wit Real". The rest of the songs are created by one of the hottest & newest music producers, Alonzo Powell (Zo) of De-U Records. The F.A.M.'s 1st group LP "Rookie of the Year" is an instant classic, it's hot, & it's a must have for any true Hip-Hop fan!!!

Published on

Self proclaimed “Go Get It Boy” E one letter is poised to blow the industry wide open with his debut solo release "Blood Sweat, & Tears" set for release in late 2009. With influences like 2Pac, Jay-Z, Scarface, T.I. & Lil' Wayne E hits the scene with an explosive and vivid lyrical delivery through hard yet still extremely melodic beats. E One Letter has steadily climbed the DC undergroud Hip-Hop ranks since he first hit DC's music scene in 1999 as a member of his group The F.A.M., earning respect from all over the country as an artist who walks what he talks. E is not only a rapper he's also an entertainer, & business man. He's also done some musical production on De-U Records' "Edu-Basic" series of children's learning tools. These CD's & DVD's have been featured on media outlets such as CNBC, NPR, The Washington Post, Business Weekly, BET News, & The Black Enterprise. In the summer of 2008 his debut single "Go Get It Boy" was featured on WPGC 95.5 as well as XM radio. The newest project you can catch One Letter on is a national mixtape hosted by DNA & DJ Drama called "Motion Picture Sh*t Vol.3: Street Kings". He regularly performs in the Washington, DC metropolitan area at open mics, local clubs, & citywide events. He has sold over 3500 units of his EP “You talk it I walk It” in one year strictly through DMV street sales alone!!! E One Letter walks it like he talks it...the true definition of a "Go Get It Boy".
