Chuck Brown is da true definition of what a DC diamond in da rough is. Chuck needs no introduction in my city...dey know, dey know!!! He's widely respected by & has influenced most if not all musicians, producers, & artists who hail from dis area. Da GoGo sound dat he fathered has musically been a gigantic influence on us local musicians & numerous artists in Hip-Hop nationwide ever since it was created here in DC during da mid 70's. Chuck's such a legendary musician dat they interviewed him on MTV's DC Hip-Hop week & he's not even a rapper 4 God's sake!!! Whether U're from DC or not trust & believe me when I tell U dat Chuck is dat nigga!!!(no homo...lol!!!)

D.C. Fashion Week

A lotta ya'll DMV outsiders don't really realize dat da Washington, D.C. metropolitan area has always had a rack of un-tapped original styles & swagger out da ass mo!!! Over da years we've had plenty of home grown comedians, actors, clothing, artists, musical stlyes, etc. swindled from right under our noses without even our permission. We even have several local music legends in the Rock & Roll and Gospel Hall's of Fame such as Chuck Brown & my grandma/labelmate Shirley Ables. It was announced recently that D.C. is officially now da newest fashion capitol next to Paris, & New York. My prediction 4 DMV fashion future is dat in da next 2-5 years da city of Washington, D.C. will be what ATL is right now 2 pop culture!!! The good people over @ MTV have decided 2 go & make dis week...DC week!!! I know, I know,...I'm jai late it being friday & all. It's just I usually try 2 stay away from posting things dat other people from dis area have on their blogs 2 keep mine unique. However I was compelled 2 post dis when I watched MTV last night 4 da 1st time in a long while only 2 realize dat the DC segments between commercials were more interesting than da videos being played on "Sucker Free". They even had da "Nike Boots" video mixed in wit da rotation. The powers that be are showin' our city a lotta luv right now!!! Thanks FTDMVO

I was on www.wikipedia.com bored yesterday searching around & I've come to find out that one of our products we produce at De-U Records made it on their site. I even found out that Ft. Wash used 2 be considered a part of DC. It's alot of other interesting facts & info about the DMV & DC area on there that I thought I'd take the time to share with you. I know ya'll old school Hip-Hop heads know some of this but most of the yungenz under 18 don't. In case U didn't know wikipedia is the new encyclopedia from the internet's point of view.
